The main objective of this workshop is to connect the repertoire of traditional styles (in this particular case, Gobbi and Pugliese) of tango with new styles through the recognition of various musical elements by means of orchestral practice and the ensemble of original orchestral arrangements, in addition to becoming familiar with the new tango repertoire.

The workshop is structured into 3 sessions/days: the first two lasting 3 hours each, and a final session of 2 hours to consolidate concepts and provide a synopsis.

THE FIRST TWO SESSIONS WILL INCLUDE:

• 30 minutes dedicated to technical explanation, presentation of both orchestras and styles, and listening to various examples.
• 1 hour and 15 minutes of intensive work with each arrangement (2 orchestral arrangements per session – 1 style as a focus)

THE THIRD SESSION WILL CONSOLIDATE THE CONCEPTS LEARNED IN THE FIRST TWO SESSIONS.

When?

1st workshop day: Saturday, March 9th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m
2nd workshop day: Sunday, March 10th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m
3rd workshop day: Tuesday, March 12th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m

Where? All 3 sessions take place in the Haus der Sinne

About NAZARENA CÁCERES:

Singer, lyricist, and composer from Argentina. She trained as a violinist and singer at the „Manuel de Falla“ Superior Conservatory of Music. Over the past decade, she has been a member of numerous tango groups, including „La Martino Orquesta Típica,“ with whom she was nominated for the 2017 Gardel Awards. In addition to countless collaborations with fellow musicians in the tango and folk genres. She is the founder and current director of Estudio Tango Contemporaneo, a specialized educational space that includes two school orchestras and a school for singers.

FEES:

Minimum capacity: 5 people (two violins, one double bass, one piano, one bandoneon)

Maximum capacity: 13 people (complete orchestra)

• All three sessions: (two of three hours, one session of two hours) 120 € per musician
• Observers: 90 € per musician for all three sessions
• Only one individual session: 40 €
